[...] The women say their 'punk prayer' was a political act in protest against the Russian Orthodox Church leader's support of President Vladimir Putin." Church and state using religious prosecution as a means to quell dissent.
  • Bahrain Activist Sentenced to 3 Years for Protests--"A three-year prison sentence handed down Thursday to a prominent Bahraini human rights activist for instigating and participating in several anti-government rallies prompted rare criticism from the United States and sparked clashes in the streets of the Gulf nation's capital."
  • Indian police arrest protesting yoga--"Indian police have arrested famed TV yoga guru and anti-corruption campaigner Baba Ramdev as he attempted to lead a procession of thousands of supporters to parliament."
